1) What is the mission of mp3relief.org?
We have three specific goals.
• Provide our audience with great underground and marquee music.
• Promote awareness of both our donor artists and the humanitarian causes we support.
• Raise as much money as possible for our partner Mercy Corps.
2) Where does the money go?
All net proceeds collected from the operation of mp3relief.org go exclusively to our official charity partner Mercy Corps in support of world wide disaster relief efforts including:
Hurricane Katrina
The famine in Niger
The South Asian Tsunami
3) Is my purchase from mp3relief.org tax deductible?
Unfortunately no...at least not yet. Do to the accelerated nature of the formation of mp3relief.org we do not yet have 501(c)(3) non-profit status. There is a considerable amount of time and expense associated with setting up a non-profit corporation. We believe that it is in the best interest of our mission to keep our starting overhead as low as possible.
Since we expect most purchases made through our site to be $20 or less, we don't believe that many of you will be deterred by the lack of a deduction.
If the tax credit is essential to your giving, however, we encourage you to make a donation directly through our charity partner Mercy Corps. In that case you will receive your deduction.
For more info please visit their great web site. www.mercycorps.org
4) What percentage of my donation actually gets to Mercy Corps?
100% of net proceeds go directly Mercy Corps.
5) Do the web developers (Loudbaby) receive any compensation for work on mp3relief.org.?
NO. We repeat no. We take no compensation for work done in both the development and maintenance of this site.
All labor is 100% volunteer.
6) I'm an artist or record label interested in contributing music to mp3relief.org. What do I do?
Donor details, including our non-exclusive licensing agreement may be found on our donor information page.
